haven’t started guest posting yet, but I plan to in 2011. I also plan to be more active with my Twitter and Facebook accounts as well because like you said these sites are getting a ton of traffic each day and it would be foolish to not try and tap into it.

Myself I am not that into Guest posting, but recently I have done some Guest posting.
Another method to consider that has worked well with a number of bloggers is creating Quizzes and Contests in your blog. Quizzes are popular with internet users and if you give people a button to place on their site; they can be quite viral and make your blog popular. If you create a good contest for people to participate in and offer a worthwhile prize, your blog will automatically become popular and the rate of subscribers will increase.

I must admit that these are very good ways to promote blogs and sites in general. Going social and inviting other bloggers to write on your blog is a good idea and way of marketing yourself.
