I had a very big surprise when I heard that Google had a page rank update at the end of May 2010, first I didn’t believed this and I have started to look around on internet about news of this PR update.
After some search and reading some forum posts I was able to find what exactly happened, Google modified the algorithm used for long tail searches , they said that this is a permanent modification and the sites that have a good content will be putted in front of others in searches.
I think this is not a big modification, the real PR update will come of the end of this month, some sites has the PR changed some in good other in bad depends of the changes done.
Bit Doze didn’t received nothing on this Google PR update maybe from the wrong changes that was done on the start of the site:
- wrong title.
- first used allot of tags (this is not a good thing for SEO)
- permalinks modification structure.
- indexed tag cloud
- and the list could go on……..
At first I didn’t know allot about how to optimized a wordpress blog for SEO but on the way I have learn some tricks and I have tried to implement them in my site, I do not know how much time it will pass before google can forget about this stupid mistakes that I have done, that’s why I have bought another domain and I want to have a nice and clean start on that one. I usually like to learn from my own mistakes and to do allot of tests, now I have a checklist with the things that are good to do and I will try them on my new sites.
Every step that I will do I will share with you so that you can decide if is good or bad.
Lest hope that you had more luck then me on this Google Page Rank update and if you need help with some advice I am here for you.

Trial & Error have always been my friends when it comes to tweaking my site. Hopefully your site will pick up some in page rank. While it isn’t a huge factor in search ranking, it doesn’t mean it should be ignored.

Have a look at “craigs all in one seo plugin” for wordpress, that does quite a bit for optimising a blog the right way and has full instructions next to each option. And no I’m not Craig btw, just a user of it lol

Yes, You are right. when i read your post, i didn’t believe that google has updated website page rank. but after that i glad to know that one of my blog site has updated its pr from 0 to 2.
you are right. from the past few days my site pages are gradually decreasing their serp positions. i had observed this but when i read you article i understand why this happened to my website.
You know what… I really didn’t notice it personally. I’ve looked deeper now though and, yes, it would appear as if Google’s had a page rank update.
PR is definitely important, it is a numerical indicator of how effective your backlinking strategy is, and is actually used in the Google algorythms.
I have just missed the PR update for some of my sites, looking forward to the next one now though!

I read about a tiny PR update in June, however none of my websites’ PR got any change. But waiting for the real PR update, will definitely come in about 1-2 weeks.

Most of my friends got good PR. One who was in 0, got PR2 and he was happy with that update.
My site haven’t change. Desperately need PR3 at least.
I think your blog is really nice, but you need to optimaze it a little bit. You should look for backlinks too.
In the PR update usually the new sites catch PR 2-3, if you get PR4 – that really nice!

I always get excited ahead of a PR update but usually end up disappointed

Me too mate didn’t see any PR change of my site pages. For me what matters is site traffic and SERP instead of page rank.
I noticed that PR has been updated on internal pages of my sites only. No change of homepages’ PR. People say that some update should happen soon in July, perhaps by 10th. Not sure, but it’s always a lot of fun checking pages and their new pagerank

July has rolled around and our PR has still not changed.
