Google Sandbox is a filter that’s applying to new sites preventing them to be in the first results.
The so-called “sandbox” theory suggests that new sites will be added to the Google index and may even show up for obscure searches such as the company/web site name but will not show well for other phrases that are relevant to the site. It doesn’t matter if the site is optimized for the search engines either. In fact, those who have optimized their sites can drive themselves crazy making change after change but to no positive avail.
Minimizing Sandbox Damages?
Google Sandbox is not something that you can control all the new sites will have this filter, what to do is to try to minimize the damage:
- Actively gather content and good links
- Plan ahead
- If you can try to buy old or expired domains
- Host on a well- established host
- Concentrate on less popular keywords
- Rely more on non-Google ways to increase traffic.
Try to build good link and be patient finally you will get out from Google Sandbox.

As much as i know, no body knows hoe to avoid it, in addition, nobody knows why one site is in the sand box and other is not.
The best way i know to check if your site is in the sand box is to search the domain name in Google and your main keyword, if your domain does appear in the result but non of your keywords, you are probably in the sandbox.

I agree. Not all are aware about google sandbox. Many of them really dont know what it is and how it works.

So how much site has to be old before it can get out of the Google Sandbox?
I hate the google sandbox…but…we all have to live with it right?
have recently published 2 new sites for a client and they are annoyed that theyre not showing up on the first page of results already!! i believe i need to explain the sandbox effect to them!
Blogs seem to be immune from this sandbox phenomenon. I have set up some blogs that were able to rank well on Google from day one. Anybody know why?
