I wonder why this is the first time, I’m seeing Ping-o-Matic as it seems to be a great site. I just send a ping to all of the possible search engines. Will see how things go.
Advertising blog comments also seems to be a good way to gain exposure, but at least the offers I found were a bit too pricey for me. Despite of that, I’m going to think more deeply about it, as the potential is high.

Thanks for sharing such a good tips mate. I’m planning to get traffic towards my blog. I started with social bookmarking and working on my blog.
Personally, I do not use the ping services. When I publish a post, I tend to edit it afterwards, so I do not want to get spammy with pinging all the time. Bots will come and search anyway.
In case that the posts you are publishing need to get indexed ASAP, well, in that case the ping services are more than welcome.

Thanks for the info. i have never heard of Ping O Matic either, sounds interesting however from reading what Space Game had to say I will have to look more into the pros and cons of using a ping service to promote my blog posts.
I have used Pingomatic for nearly 9 months now and I’m more than delighted with the service. It is easy to use and a very handy tool to have access to because when I update a website or blog, I usually want the article picked up as soon as possible because it is time sensitive.

How many hands do I need to do all this? I mean actually the article has a nice list of ways to promote a blog, but it’s very hard to do all of this and also depends on the niche of your blog.
If you’re SEO specialist and leave some comments on SEO forums, really relevant comments so yes – having a link to your blog in a signature can help. But it’s not like this for all niches
Smart facebook / twitter use. Blog directories, feed directories, youtube, advertising – good way.
Social bookmarking is dead for me. Well it helps for indexation, but as a source of traffic…. Right SEO optimization is a best way to drive targetted traffic.
