Windows phone users are struggling with inefficient map applications from last two days. Considerably, Google Map is not working over Windows operating system based mobile phones. Last two days were full of irritation, the IE browsers are redirecting to Google Home page on opening of Google maps from windows phones via IE web browsers. Technically, the browser is redirecting to Google’s home page.
This changed behavior has also been confirmed by various authentic virtual marketing agencies. All such organizations get the same output of redirecting on google.com on trying to access google.com/maps. This search string led the user on the home page of Google.
Various business organizations are seeing this as the recent installment of mobile feud between search engine giant Google and Microsoft. Recent announcements from Google about aborting the exchange active sync and Microsoft’s announce on the lack of official YouTube client support. These announcements have fueled up such predictions of mobile feud in these two giant business organizations and Google’s hand in this map’s inefficiency. Considerably, both organizations are targeting same customers since long and trying to register their mark on this business ground. Google is running staying ahead and directing virtual market and customers via its innovative search features.
Considerably, Google is focusing largely on updating decade old technology and furbishing its search engine with new & innovative technologies. On the other hand, Microsoft is not showing the needed innovation and customer orientation in its product releases. Last two releases have not gained the proper interest of targeted customers.
Don’t Go Wrong! Google Is Not Behind This…………
There are evidences that Google is not behind stopping Google maps support to Windows but it is due to a technical error. As per the Google, the maps are written to support the Webkit rendering engine. Considerably, Webkit is an open source project, managed by Apple. This project includes several other web browsers such as Safari and Chrome. Google also trusts in Webkit project and make its mobile apps ready for Webkit.
Why Google has not optimized its apps for IE Mobile?
It is not about a conspiracy theory or something like that. Google simply created an app called Google Maps using Webkit and consistently building apps on this project. In current scenario, this open source project is commanding wide-ranging apps. But, this domination stands nowhere in comparison of internet explorer’s 90% of the desktop browsing market before mobile era.
The search engine giant Google has accepted that it is not going to create apps for windows phone. Google will consistently focus on iOS and Android market. As, this market revolves as per the consumers so the scenario can change at any point of time in future.
Undoubtedly, reasons behind this issue are not good for customers. Windows Phone users will have not the resourceful mapping applications as Google Maps but there is also some relief for such customers. Users can use Bing Maps, Nokia Maps to find the needful locations. These applications are like remedy to windows mobile users.
