Black Friday 2026 lands on November 27, with Cyber Monday on November 30. Before that, Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days on October 6–7 usually previews the same pricing on storage, networking, and PC hardware — last year it produced some of the best mini PC prices of the year.

This page tracks the homelab gear I’ve reviewed or recommended across the site: mini PCs, NAS enclosures, Thunderbolt 5 docks, and UPS units. The verified price column is what each item actually sold for on Amazon on September 21, 2026 — not the inflated “list price” Amazon shows next to the discount badge. The target column is the price where I’d buy. I’ll refresh this through Cyber Monday as real deals go live.

How to spot a real deal

Two tricks sellers run every November:

  • Inflated list prices. The Anker Prime TB5 dock shows a $445.98 “list price” and a -22% badge — but its real street price has been ~$350–400 all year. The discount is smaller than it looks.
  • Merged listings. Budget mini PCs (especially GMKtec) share one Amazon page across a dozen CPU variants. Always confirm the selected configuration in the dropdown before checkout — the price you see may belong to a different model.

When in doubt, paste the product URL into a price-history tracker (camelcamelcamel, Keepa) and compare against the baseline in the tables below.

UPS deals

Every homelab box on this page needs clean shutdown protection. Pure sine wave matters — active-PFC power supplies in modern mini PCs and NAS units can be damaged by simulated-sine budget UPS units.

CyberPower CP1500PFCLCD

★★★★★★★★★★
4.5/5

1500VA/1000W pure sine wave UPS — the homelab consensus pick. Talks to NUT/apcupsd for graceful shutdown, and the AVR handles brownouts without draining the battery.

Key Features

  • 1500VA/1000W pure sine wave output
  • 12 outlets (6 battery + 6 surge)
  • USB-A + USB-C charge ports
  • 3-year warranty including battery

Pros & Cons Analysis

Pros
  • Pure sine at a mid-range price
  • 11,400+ reviews, #1 in its category
Cons
  • 24.9 lbs — it's a floor unit
  • No rackmount option in this SKU

Important Considerations

  • Pair it with NUT or PowerPanel so the server shuts down cleanly
  • Lead-acid battery lasts ~3–5 years; factor a replacement into cost

What to expect (and when to buy)

  • Oct 6–7 (Prime Big Deal Days): Amazon usually discounts its own bestsellers early. Last year the Mac mini hit $469 and NAS boxes saw their first real cuts. If a product in the tables hits its target in October, buy it — it rarely goes lower in November.
  • Nov 27–30 (BF/CM): The deepest cuts land on Amazon-choice SKUs and last-gen models. Premium docks (CalDigit) typically see $30–50 off, not 40%.
  • Watch stock, not just price. The DXP4800 Plus was down to one unit at last check. NAS and mini PC inventory thins out fast in deal weeks — a good price with no stock is a worse outcome than a decent price today.

FAQ

Are Black Friday prices actually the lowest of the year?

For PC hardware and peripherals, usually yes — or within a few dollars of it. The exceptions are products launched in Q4 (first discounts come in spring) and items with inflated list prices where the “deal” is fake. The baselines above are the reference points.

Should I wait for Black Friday or buy during Prime Big Deal Days?

If an item hits its target price during the October event, buy it. October discounts on Amazon bestsellers (the CP1500 UPS, mainstream NAS boxes) typically repeat — not beat — in November, and stock risk is real.

Why is the Mac mini listed at $999?

That’s the current Amazon buy-box price for the 16GB/256GB M4 — well above Apple’s $599 MSRP and the $469 it hit during Prime Day. It’s included here so you can see how far off the mark the current listing is. Only buy it if it drops near $500.

How often is this page updated?

Baselines were verified September 21, 2026. The tables get refreshed when deals go live — around Prime Big Deal Days and again through Black Friday/Cyber Monday week. Bookmark it and check back when the sales start.

Do you get paid for these links?

Yes — the /go/ links are affiliate links, disclosed at the top of the page. They don’t change the price you pay. Every product listed is one I’ve recommended in a standalone guide regardless of commission.
